Antiterrorism & Force Protection Policy Analyst

Position Overview:

ANSER is seeking an Antiterrorism & Force Protection Policy Analyst working full-time / onsite at the Pentagon in support of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy (OUSD(P)), Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Defense Continuity and Mission Assurance (DC&MA).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis within the areas of Antiterrorism (AT) & Force Protection (FP) in support of proposed legislation, statutes, rules, policies, procedures, and technology, and provide recommendations to senior leadership to ensure DoD can effectively and lawfully protect personnel and assets from persistent terrorism and nation-state threats.
  • Research existing policy and procedures to prepare technical assessment reports on specific global AT, FP, and other security topics and provide background, analysis, and recommended courses of action to improve doctrinal publications.
  • Support coordination for and facilitate the Department of Defense (DoD) Force Protection Working Group (FPWG) to improve standards, practices, and procedures across all DoD Components.
  • Use initiative and problem-solving skills to coordinate, improve, and synchronize AT and FP policy with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Departments, Military Services, and interagency partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Master's degree in a related field and 12+ years of relevant work experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of related experience.

Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Experience producing analytically based recommendations and decision products for senior leaders that represent client-coordinated equities using expertise in multi domain security.
  • Experienced with rapidly preparing high quality decision support and other written material for senior DoD leaders under tight deadlines.
  • Experience and understanding of the Federal interagency and DoD policy development and staffing processes.
  • Experience working in a joint civil/military environment.
  • Understanding and/or familiarization of Agency level policy for Antiterrorism, Force Protection, security, and incident management.
