Specific Job Description:

The office of Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD R&E) is seeking a Project Management and Execution Support Analyst. In this role you will support the Experiments Team under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Mission Capabilities (MC), Prototypes and Experiments (P&E) Directorate located in Crystal City, VA. You will assist this team in planning, coordinating, and conducting exercises and demonstrations for varying prototype technologies to include kinetic and non-kinetic effects, small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS)/Counter-sUAS, among others.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • As a member of the Integration team:
    • Coordinate with military exercise planners to map and integrate Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER) prototypes into existing military exercises to validate technology readiness levels 7-9.
    • Collect Body of Evidence (BoE) and Body of Knowledge on assigned RDER prototypes. These includes items such as Service endorsement letters, system design documentation, and evaluation documentation from technical demonstrations and experiments. These documents are compiled and presented to the 4-Star Level Deputy's Management Action Group (DMAG) which decides if a prototype is ready for transition to the Services.
  • As Lead planner/coordinator for Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems campaign to demonstrate effectiveness of kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities.
    • Coordinate with military range to plan and execute c-UAS experiments kill chain to test P&E prototypes of interest (non-RDERs) from concept development to execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (STEM preferred) with 5 years of experience
  • Experience with military exercise planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Project analysis and oversight support
  • Preparation and coordination of project documentation
  • Preparation and participation in program reviews
  • Supporting financial planning and execution reviews (if applicable)
  • Project status updates and reporting
  • Support to enable efficient creation, storage and dissemination of necessary project and program information.
  • Support to experimentation/demonstration preparation, support, and analysis
  • TS/SCI Clearance required
